Apparently, the new D7's tweeter has been reduced by half a dB, and the new A7 are much closer to the old D7 than the prior A6/A6R due to them (the A7) utilising more of the D7's technology and design. Maybe that's why the D7 got an upgrade to keep the A7's at bay. The A7 at £3.2k versus the new D7 at £4.5k.
